Jalama Beach is located about 20 miles the southwest of Lompoc via Jalama road.

Getting to Jalama can be tough because the road is narrow and winds through the Santa Ynez Mountains, but the views of the surrounding scenery are amazing. Slow down and catch glimpse of some of the last undeveloped coastline in California.

Jalama is the go-to summer break spot for Santa Barbara surfers because it pickups swell from almost any direction, although south – west swells produce the best waves. Jalama is located just north of Pt. Conception and is exposed to the elements of Central California – strong northwest winds usually blow this place out by mid- morning. If you’re planning on surfing here, come early!

To access Jalama, you will have to pay a $10 parking fee. If you the waves will be pumping all weekend consider pitching your tent at the campground. Camping fees range from $20 to $40. Check out Jalama Beach County Park Fees for more details.
